John 19:28-30
The Death of Jesus
Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Jesus saved me! There is so much more that I could write about this beautiful moment in history where someone who didn't know me yet, someone who's the son of an Almighty Omnipotent God decided to sacrifice himself for me, but it is that simple. He decided to do so in order to allow me to go heaven, a place that is described in Revelation 21 as :
"The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass. "
Now isn't that wonderful! however God writes in the following verses that : "Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life."
That part kind of sidetracked from my original devotion but it's what came to my mind, Jesus has done his work here on Earth and now it's up to us to decide whether or not to believe and have faith in God in everything we do whether it's school or just life in general even if it is hard.
I know I have many times walked away from God when my life didn't go the way that I planned it but God has bigger plans in the future.
"~It is You~"
" When there's something that you want and believe in so much-
trusting that God will do it- and for some reason He chooses no to give it to you, that's when you walk by faith. You decide to
still trust that God knows what He's doing." - Jeremy Camp
